Thirteen days in paradise

Aloha!! First of all, I cannot seem to get my computer to stop underlining my text, so this post will seem like your reading it on perfectly ruled paper! Wow, we just got back from Hawaii and had such a fabulous time! We went over with my parents to see Emily and Dan and their FOUR kids. Em just had their fourth, sweet little Charlie, in April. It just so happens they live in probably the best place in the world to visit! The only thing missing was our own dear daddy. Chad had to stay and hold down the fort, bring home the bacon...and so on. It actually turned out to be a good thing he couldn't come, because in the end if he had been with us, I would have never wanted to leave!

Em and I at the Temple, their next door neigbor
This was towards the end of the trip, and a dinner away from the kids was just as welcome as the beautiful view from our table. (Charlie was very obliging at the adult dinner, and barely made a peep!)

I love that in Hawaii a spiderman slip-n-slide can be a backyard staple all year through

Here comes Colin (or Collywog as we call him!)

Of course we found some horses for Josh. It wouldn't be a vacation, or any worth while activity without horses- or at least that how Josh sees it

My lovely Hawaiian prince

According to Josh, there is no place that isn't made better with a sommersault

Ah, Jane! The cutest little beach babe there is! What a trooper. Josh is obsessed with her and wanted to play with her every minute of the day. I think I only heard her say "JOsh, I have been playing with you all day," once. Love ya Jane!

This is Hukeilau Beach, where my parents and I stayed. It's a nice backyard huh?

Colin, Jane, Sam and Josh

Here's little Charlie. He's cute as he can be. I think once again, Dan has dominated- he is definitely a Bradshaw. Yet, I can't call them the Weasley's anymore because it looks like Charlie is breaking the mold and going with a shade of hair other than red!

Love this picture, and LOVE the thumbsucker, Sam. This boy is just the best. We had many a ggreat game of enchanted forest. Love ya Sam, fist it for me bud!

Josh, Jane and Sam, sitting outside as Dan worked tirelessly opening a coconut Josh found on a walk
So, these next few pictures are of what Josh REALLY enjoyed in Hawaii. Fortunately for Josh, and unfortunately for Chad, Emily has a great assortment of dress ups...with many beautiful dresses and wigs. These are a FEW of the get-ups Josh put on! Here he is as Tinkerbell, or Bella as he wanted to be called. (Sorry for showing the world these pics Chad!)

One of the more masculine outfits, here is Josh in a form fitting Mr. Smee costume

Also not such a bad one, although Colin does look like he's wearing something beauty pageant contesta nts wear in their opening number (Iwish you could see the whole thing.)

Now it's Colin's turn to be Tinkerbell. Josh is sporting a lovely sequined cheerleader uniform and channeling Cher with the wig. Emily told me that Jane lovingly calls that their "Margaret" wig.

I laughed so hard when I found him this way. Why is my son so crazy?!

Perhaps my favorite, Josh arrived at Emily's house the first day and within minutes he was Aerial! This wig was also a real favorite for him. He felt it went with everything, and I mean, look at it, it's lovely!

Again, one of the better ones of the group!

Josh LOVED holding baby Charlie. Without fail he would start singing "Go to sleep, go to sleep..." in a beautifully high angelic voice.

I had never been to this temple at night before, and it is so beautiful! Josh thought it was beautiful too, and then he just wanted to play in the fountains.
So, that's a little look at our trip. Sorry it was so long. Thanks Em and Dan for such a fabulous time! And thanks to Utah for not being humid, my hair surely appreciates it!

Days to look forward to....

Hey everybody! I know it's frustrating when you keep checking someone's blog and it's NEVER updated, so I wanted to let you all know that I'm in Hawaii right now and will post when I get back. I felt like I needed to put a new post up so people didn't feel like they needed to keep commenting on the look of my blog! Talk to you all soon!!

Revamping Days

So if you haven't noticed, I redid my blog! I have to give a HUGE shout out to the fabulous Britnee Fullmer, because without her I wouldn't have had a clue what I was doing. She is so great, she even makes house calls!! The downside of this new venture into photoshop and digital scrapbooking is that I am becoming obsessed. Guess how much Josh wants to let me sit down and play around on the computer? Right. So now my new bedtime is about 2am. I'm sure it will die down....right?!

Spring Days

I feel like I am always apologizing for being such a bad blogger! Sorry it's been awhile, but this way you get a lot more pictures to look at right?
We'll begin with Chef Joshy. He loves to cook, and sometimes I indulge him and let him use real food. In this case he made delicious goldfish and pepper soup. He loves to play "chef" with Daddy in which Josh's name is "Pizza guy" and Chad's name is "Chef." When I am invited to play, I am "Gusteau!"

Next is the big event of the past few months, Bethy's wedding! Yep, Bethy and Justin tied the knot! She was such a beautiful bride and it was a great day. I think the highlight of the wedding dinner was when Josh, during a poignant pause in someone's speech, screamed "Oh no! I peed in my pants!!!" The whole place just errupted with laughter. It was pretty embarrasing and then funny. Josh then ended the evening by finding a trash can and lying down in it. Am I a bad mom when the first thing I do is reach for the camera instaed of pulling my son out of the random trash can?!
During the wedding it was so fun to have all my family here. The next pictures are ones with cousins. They had a lot of fun playing in the snow.

Next comes St. Patricks day. Josh made this little hat at the gym, and that's about all the celebrating we did of that day.

Next comes Easter. We had a fun little Easter egg hunt with some friends, where Josh was racing around trying to beat his friend to all the eggs. He had so much fun. Then on Easter morning the Easter bunny brought him his new best friend, "Girl Duck." That is what he named the big chick he got. He then decided she was big enough to ride, and that's just what he did. The other day when some of his little friends came and knocked on our door asking if Josh could ride bikes and scooters, Josh got really sad and said, "Oh I don't have a bike! But that's ok because I have Girl Duck." So he took Girl Duck outside and rode around on her.

Last but not least is Josh's new obsession with dressing up and playing pretend. I decided to post the more masculine version. Much to Chad's dismay he loves to find my clothes and shoes and play "princess." My favorite game he plays is with his Grandma and Grandpa called "baby." Josh is the baby named "Nala", my mom is his mommy named "Grace" and Grandpa is the Daddy named "Maggie." Unfortunately Maggie spends most of his time on time out as Nala loves to send him there. The other day Chad and I got in on the action and we were named "Uncle Felix" and "Aunt Shirley," yet the twist is that I was Uncle Felix and Chad was Aunt Shirley! We also found out that Nala had a sister named "Uncle Rusty." We told Mommy Grace that she sure shose some interesting names for her children; a son named Nala and a daughter named Uncle Rusty!
Sorry for the long post, thanks for reading...(if you did!)

Scrapbooking anyone?

So I'm not a scrapbooker by any means. It just overwhelms me. I do recap of the year pages for my mother in law and mom for Christmas every year and that's about it. Anyway, I found out about this digital scrapbooking retreat up in Park City at the end of April, and I'm a little bit interested. I think I could handle digital scrapbooking. There's no mess, no going to the store or gluing and cutting. So they have a lot of beginners classes in the beginning of the weekend and then more advanced later. It would be helpful because I think they work through photoshop and that would be handy to know. Anyway, it's only like $100 and that includes your stay at the Park City Marriot. I think it would be fun! IF anyone out there is interesed let me know and I'll give you more info. It could be a really fun girls weekend!

Days O' Love

If you look at the time this was posted, you'll note that I can't sleep tonight! So let me be the first to wish you all a very happy valentines day. I love you all! I've been thinking about stuff I need to do tomorrow, and that took me down a stroll down memory lane...valentine lane if you will!

So what's your best, or even better, worst valentines day? I have to laugh as I think about Chad and my, shall we say, least succesful valentines day.

Chad had made reservations for us up at The Roof. Cheesy you say? Well, I'm all for gazing off into the eternities while dining on a lovely buffet! Anyway, I got off work late and therefore we were unable to make the reservation. So where do you go on valentines night without a reservation? Well that was the dilemma.

Then Chad had a great idea. He had heard about this great new place that he wanted to try. It was called Wallabys. Yes, Wallabys. Do you all know what Wallabys is? If you don't, let's just say it wouldn't be your dream valentines meal. So we're thinking it's a really nice steak house. Chad said they did catering for really nice events.

Chad calls for directions and for some odd reason he asked what the dress was like there. This is so not a Chad thing to do, and it's not like we ever dress up for dinner anyway. Well, the reply was, "uh, I guess dressy to dressy casual." And the best part about this fabulous new place was that they could get us in right away!!
Wow, we really scored!

So we set off for our fine dining experience and as we pull up, we knew something was amiss! We enter expecting to give the hostess our name, but instead are shuffled immediatley in line to order our food. Someone had seriously misrepresented this place. After we order our hunk of barbecued meat, they hand us our paper plate and paper utensils. And it's not even Chinet, it's the really thin, flimsy kind with the fluted edges.
We just sat down and laughed. The best part was that the dress for this place was "dressy to dressy casual!" It's still something we sit and laugh about. So in that way, it was actually one of the best.

Our best one had to be our first one together before we were married. Chad took me up to see figure skating during the Olympics. It was so amazing!! (There, that was a much shorter story!)

So share your best V-day stories with me and please have a wonderful day of love!!

Pump up the jams!

So the past few months, well just 2007 actually, was not a great one for my physique! Therefore, in an unprecidented move, I have decided to get in better shape for the new year. 2008 here I come! So I need all your help. Tell me your favorite songs for working out. You know the ones that come on and gives you that push to work harder? I need some new ones. And if there are any blog hoppers out there, please contribute as well! I want all I can get. So everyone think so you can help me bust a move while I'm slimming down!
