Why UCLA?

I've had some people ask me why we are such crazy UCLA fans, so for those of you who don't know- Chad grew up in southern Cali and was a fan but the real reason is that his brother Ben is the quarterback for the team... so now we are crazy freakshow fans!!
Now for another announcement...I'm preg...wait no that wasn't it. Oh yeah I wanted to tell you all that we are having computer issues so I won't be able to do any interesting posts with pictures for awhile. I knew you would all be dying to know! (and to clarify I am NOT pregnant!!)

Good days for the Bruins!!!

This is just a quick little shout out for the good ol' Bruins of UCLA. 27- 17 baby!! I have to say that football season is a little too nerve-wracking for my taste. This game had us going crazy, Chad even had to leave the house and go for a drive during the middle of it! In the end the Bruins pulled it out and we were very relieved. Next it's on to kill the Utes (and I know all you haters and BYU cougs will not object to that!!)

Days in Rome (I wish!)

My cute friend Kelli had this test on her blog and I thought it was kind of fun- by the way Kel, it looks like we need to plan a trip to Rome! so click on the link below and take the test. Let me know if you are coming on our Roman holiday!!

You Belong in Rome

You're a big city soul with a small town heart
Which is why you're attracted to the romance of Rome
Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand
And gorgeous Italian people - could life get any better?

Days with my great little helper

I am going to blow everyone's mind and do another post within days of my last one! Lately Josh has been making me laugh and smile at every moment. My mom told me the other day that I am a truly lucky lady with an enthusiastic and nice little boy. I was reminded of that again when today as I started doing the dishes, Joshy grabbed a chair and pushed it over to the sink and said "I'm gonna clean up too Mommy!" He was so excited. Even though his help should really be typed as "help," as it gets in my way and adds extra clean up for me, I am so grateful for his enthusiasm to help me that it's worth it. I mean how long will helping me clean up be his favorite thing to do? So here's to you my little helper!!

Can you tell that he is in a horse phase (more like obsession) right now?

This is how Joshy loaded the dishwasher, he was so proud of himself!

This wasn't really Josh helping me, but I thought it was funny. He came and got me, so excited that he couldn't spit his words out. Finally he told me that he had made movies for Spirit to watch, and this is what I found. (Spirit is the wonderful horse movie on the TV- it has been Joshy's favorite for most of his life, but lately has made a comeback...again with the horse craze!) He also got very upset when I called Spirit a boy- he thinks any horse with such beautiful hair must be a girl- maybe that's why he gave Spirit Pride and Prejudice to watch?

Days at Thanksgiving Point

I know, I know, I haven't updated forever...sorry! We went on a trip to Montana and I wanted to get those pics up before I did any others, but unfortunatley we didn't have a working camera up there (ahhhh- frustrating!) so we need to get pics from other people in order to have any. So I decided those will come later.
Last weekend we took Joshy to his paradise...a farm! We headed up to the farm at Thanksgiving Point and he loved it. He didn't want to leave, even in the 100 degree heat (notice his bright red face in the pics). He got to pet a number of animals and the highlight was his two pony rides. Sometimes I wonder if we are born with certain characteristics or if they are learned- like, Chad enjoyed the farm probably as much as Josh did and kept telling him one day he'd have his own horse. Hmmmm. Those two are peas in a pod!
The next Monday I went with some friends back up to Thanksgiving Point to the children's Discovery Garden. I had never been before and it was a cute place with lots of fun stuff for the kids. The highlight was the Noah's Arc swimming area (again it was sooooo hot! Why do I do this to myself?!) Joshy also enjoyed the bear, but he kept getting mad because he wanted to pet a real bear. All in all Thanksgiving Point gave us some good times!

Days to remember....more!

So today while cleaning up I found our other camera (maybe I should clean more often?!) and there were a few more pics I wanted to post. Most of these are of Ben and Andrea's wedding in St. George. The one's from the previous post were all from the Cali reception. I know mostly family will want to see them, so sorry if you are tired of seeing me in the same pink dress! The rest of the pics are from last fall.

Here are 5 generations of Olsons...how cool is that?!

At one of Ben's games in the Rose Bowl with Holly and Joe. (I guess cause we know the QB we got to meet one of the cheerleaders...she even sat on Joe's lap!) Go Bruins!!

October 13, 2006...even though it was my birthday, we were celebrating little Ryan Reichman's entrance into the world the day before. Joshy was really excited to meet his new little buddy.

Ben and Andrea's wedding:

What a bunch of hunky brothers....uh-uh ladies they are all now officially taken!

And here are two of the foxy wives now!

The reception at The Entrada:

Here are Gavin and Josh in their GQ training

Go Joshy go! Josh was bustin a move on the dance floor when he wasn't throwing rocks in the pond or playing in the dirt.

So that is the last of the re-cap pictures, I promise all postings will now be new stuff!

Days to remember

Hello! Welcome to the Olson family blog! I feel so behind the times just joining the blogging world, but I am excited to finally get started. I decided to put some pictures up to highlight what has been going on in our lives the past year, so enjoy!

Here is Josh on Halloween showing what he does when you ask him to give you a big smile

Josh turned two in November and it was all about Elmo!

Our trip to visit Emily in Hawaii for Christmas:

Aloha!

Josh and Mommy as wisemen in the nativity on Christmas eve

Christmas morning

On the glass bottom boat, looking for sea turtles

Sisters in pink!

Ben (Chad's bro) and Andrea's wedding in May:

Josh stayed clean for about 5 minutes!

Some of the flowers we did for the reception...we were so proud of ourselves!

Summer fun:

Josh and cousin Sam at the park

At the 4th of July parade (J0sh really did have a good time despite the look in this picture!)

A treat while watching fireworks

Yikes! This is one of myfavorite looks for Chad, I think he can really pull it off. We met Bethany's boyfriend on the 4th, so Chad put on my extensions to make a good impression. Any votes on a good name for his alter ego? I like Kenny.

The little gang: Jane, Sam and Josh

Grandma and Martha's 60th B0day Bash. Because they were born in '47, we crowned the Days of 47 queens Grandmas B-day (with two little snitchers!)

Josh went to see Daddy get a haircut and then begged to get one too (even though he has no hair to cut!) He was so mesmerized with what was going on, he could't take his eyes off the mirror to look at the camera!

I figured Chad would be mad if I didn't include any pictures of another "member of the family" (some of us wouldn't really use that term!) This is Casey, our beloved dog. He's been with us for about two years. (If you would like to see more photos, just ask- Chad does a comprehensive photo shoot quite frequently! We have some great shots of Casey from every angle and in different settings!)

I hope you enjoyed the little re-cap, see you soon with more updates!
